What We Believe,
Our Mission, Vision and Core Values

Our Beliefs

While the Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice, the following statements are a reflection of our fundamental teachings.

God

We believe that God is One, Holy, Eternal and Self-existing.  He manifests himself in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit while still maintaining his eternal Deity. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Leviticus 19:2; I Samuel 2:2; Deuteronomy 33:27; Exodus 3:14; Revelation 1:8; Acts 10; Acts 19:2)

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh - perfect man, perfect God, our Emmanuel (1 Timothy 3:16).  We believe that Jesus was the Son of God, lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross.  He rose from the dead on the third day and doing so, demonstrated His power over sin and death.  He ascended into heaven and will return to earth to reign as King. (Matthew 1:22-23; Romans 1:3-4; Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:14-15)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit, also known as the Spirit of Truth, was the promised Comforter Jesus spoke about while He was on earth and that fell on the disciples on the Day of Pentecost.  He was sent from God and now lives in every Believer from the moment of authentic conversion to indwell, infill, enlighten, empower, lead, guide, correct, convict, and comfort their lives.  He is the source of Revelation, Wisdom, and Power.  (St. John 14:16,26; St. John 15:26; Acts 2:3-4; 1 Corinthians 2:10-11)

The Bible
We believe what the Bible says about itself which is that it is inspired by God. It is a collection of writings by human authors who were under the authority and guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is to be interpreted according to its context and purpose and when “rightly divided” it is the ultimate authority for our faith, our lives, and the practices of our church. (Matthew 22:29; 2 Timothy 3:15-16; Romans 15:4 )

Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to humanity but as is the case with any gift, it must be received. The way we receive this gift is only by trusting in the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. (1 Timothy 2:5; Romans 10:9)

Generosity
We believe that tithes, offerings, and alms are God’s financial plan for the support of His work. (Malachi 3:10; Matthew 23:23; 2 Corinthians 9:6-12)

Discipline
We believe that discipline is a gift from Christ given to His church to promote its health and productivity. (Matthew 18:15-20; Proverbs 19:18)

The House of Bread Mission Statement

It is our mission at the HOUSE is to worship and glorify the Lord, and to create a Christian community of transformed followers of Jesus Christ.

The House of Bread Vision Statement

The House of Bread exists to be a beacon of hope. 

 

A HOUSE where:

  • Those who attend are made to feel at home, welcomed and embraced as a part of the family of God.

  • Both the spiritual and physical needs of its community are met.

  • Believers are supported in their efforts to establish an intimate relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ.

  • Those in need regardless of their demographics will receive support, deliverance, healing and be set free for the end time harvest.

  • The nations of the world will be positively impacted through its ministry.

  • God’s power, and anointing dwells and is manifested through signs, wonders and miracles.

  • The Word of God is taught in love, and without compromise.

  • Continual growth is experienced by following the ever dynamic move of God.

Core Values of the HOUSE

  1. We will honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His church with integrity.

  2. We will serve our God with excellence always striving to give our best to Him.

  3. We value prayer as the means to intimate connection with God and that it is mandatory in the life of every believer.

  4. We will pursue loving and authentic relationships within the community of believers including all those who we serve.

  5. We will equip and mobilize believers to reflect Jesus in their world.

  6. We will love and value people …all people.

  7. We will handle conflict in a manner that reflects the love of God.

  8. We will support and try to develop the ministry of every believer expressed through their spiritual gifts and passions.

  9. We will embrace unity in diversity.

  10. We will not judge outsiders, being mindful of the fact that Jesus died to save a fallen world.

  11. We will support godly marriages and help to build strong families.

  12. We will not condemn some sins, and ignore others.
